EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE cross country saw four personal records and one season best at the Illinois State Invite.

"We had some good performances today and some people really stepped up," Assistant Coach Kayla Brown said.

On the men's side, there were three PRs set during the 8k. Tyler Owens led the Cougars with a 14th place finish and a PR of 25:40.7. Also running PRs were Austin Woodard (25:52.5) and Liam O'Connell (26:46.9).

For the women's 5k, SIUE was led by Haley Miller 18:49.0. Allie Sweatt ran a season best 18:53.6 with Aly Goff running a PR of 19:09.9.

"Haley Miller guided the women with Allie Sweatt a couple runners back. Aly Goff ran to another personal best and continues to progress," Brown added. "There are still parts of the race that we need to piece together as we continue to grow and learn each day."

The Cougars are back in action next Saturday at the Stegemoller Classic in Evansville, Indiana. The women's 5k will start at 8:30 a.m. and the men's 8k will begin at 9:15 a.m.
