EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE volleyball announced the addition of Hope Everett (Norris City, Illinois) to the roster for the 2017 season.
Everett, a 6-foot, 3-inch middle blocker, led Norris City-Omaha-Enfield High School to fourth place at the IHSA Class 1A state championships last season. She helped the Fighting Cardinals to a 28-8 record, leading the team in blocks (66).
"Hope is a dynamic athlete who will fully realize her potential over her career," said SIUE Head Coach Leah Johnson. "With experience playing in the middle and on both pins, she is comfortable attacking at multiple tempos and locations. Hope's length and her ability to utilize her full reach over her swing will establish her as a lethal threat in our league."
An honorable mention All-State selection as a team captain her senior season, Everett also was a two-time All-South pick as a junior and a senior. She was part of four consecutive Greater Egyptian Conference titles.
Everett played club volleyball for H2 St. Louis (2015-17) and High Impact (2013-14).
"Hope's work ethic and character as an athlete and student will immediately mesh with the culture of Cougar Volleyball," said Johnson. "She is ready to give her full effort in bettering herself and serving others around her."
She is the daughter of Chad and Dawn Everett.
