Voss, Karban Earn GLVC Volleyball Honors

November 9, 2001

         Andrea Voss (St. Rose) and Kari Karban (Belleville) were named second team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference by a vote of the league's 11 coaches.
         Voss, a sophomore, led the Cougars in hitting percentage (.279), kills (451) and blocks (169). She emerged as a force at middle hitter finishing second in the GLVC in blocks per game.
         Karban, a junior, was honored as a defensive specialist. She finished the season with 231 digs and a team-leading 68 service aces.
         Bethany Gastright, of Northern Kentucky, was named the GLVC Player of the Year. Shaun McAllister, of Indianapolis, was honored as the Freshman of the Year. Carlos Chia, a first-year coach at Northern Kentucky, was named the Coach of the Year.
