Miami (Ohio) Results

ORLANDO, Fla. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's tennis split its matches Wednesday, defeating South Dakota State and losing to Miami (Ohio).

The Cougars, 2-12, won four singles matches against SDSU. Maggie Boeckman led the Cougars with her 6-0, 6-1 victory over Caitlin Brannen at No. 2 singles. Laura Horning, Kelsey Laird and Ali Wulfers also won straight sets matches.

Carli Connors went three sets with Bryna Nasenbeny at No. 1 singles, dropping the final set in a 10-5 tiebreaker. Amanda Niebur also dropped a 6-4, 6-2 match to SDSU's Nellie Bloomberg at No. 6 singles.

In the evening match, Miami (Ohio) gave the Cougars all they could handle. All six singles matches were completed in straight sets. Boeckman again turned in the top match and fell 6-0, 7-5 to Stephanie Danesis. The Redhawks improved to 6-3.
