Quick Touches
TODAY'S OPPONENT: Jacksonville State (OVC) is 1-9 this season.
SERIES STUFF: This is the first meeting between the two schools in women's soccer.
CONFERENCE CALL: Tonight is the opening of SIUE's first full Ohio Valley Conference schedule. In the final year before NCAA Division I certification, SIUE remains ineligible for the postseason.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES: After recording just three wins in 2009, the Cougars nearly tripled that total, winning eight games during 2010.
RPI: The final RPI numbers for 2010 had the Cougars at 188. That would have made SIUE the third-highest rated team in the OVC. JSU had an RPI of 297.
LEADERS IN THE CLUBHOUSE: Devon Thomas leads the team with seven points (2G, 3A). Thomas, Brittany Bodziak and Michelle Auer have two goals apiece.
SHARING THE WEALTH: Already, nine players have had a hand in scoring for the Cougars. Ten different players scored a goal last season for SIUE. Fifteen players had at least a point in 2010.
