Quick Touches
TODAY'S OPPONENT: Indiana State (Missouri Valley Conference) is 1-4 this season.
SERIES STUFF: This is the fourth meeting between the two schools in women's soccer. The Cougars hold a 2-1 edge in the series. SIUE also won last year's meeting 2-0 in Terre Haute, Ind.
CONFERENCE CALL: The Cougars play a full Ohio Valley Conference schedule for the first time in 2011. In the final year before NCAA Division I certification, SIUE remains ineligible for the postseason.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES: After recording just three wins in 2009, the 2010 Cougars nearly tripled that total, winning eight games during the year.
RPI: The final RPI numbers for 2010 had the Cougars at 188. That would have made SIUE the third-highest-rated team in the OVC. WIU had an RPI of 226.
SHARING THE WEALTH: Already, seven players have had a hand in scoring this year for the Cougars. Ten different players scored a goal last season for SIUE. Fifteen players had at least an assist in 2010.
