TOURNAMENT TIME: The Cougars will be looking to win their third conference tournament championship in four years after winning in 2014 and 2016. SIUE holds a 7-2 overall record in Ohio Valley Conference postseason tournaments.
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS: UT Martin saved their postseason dreams by going on a four game unbeaten streak to end the season. The Skyhawks are led by Danae Kadaridou who accumulated 18 points (seven goals, four assists) this season. Kadaridou's 18 points were the fourth most in the OVC. Katelyn Colvin led the conference in assists (8) and had scored three goals. Amy McGivern is second in the conference in shots taken (64) and recorded 10 points (four goals, two assists) during the regular season.
TOP PERFORMERS: Freshman MacKenzie Litzsinger is tied for first for the Cougars in points with nine (4 goals, 1 assist). Hoefert also has nine points (4 goals, 1 assist) on the season. Roehnelt has scored all three of her goals during conference games, which is tied for seventh best in conference play this season.
WHAT A PASS: Senior midfielder Emily Grahl finished fourth in the OVC with five assists. Grahl is seventh all-time for SIUE in career assists with 20. She has started all 80 games of her career, putting her first all-time in career starts for SIUE
WHAT A SAVE: Juli Rossi recorded 71 saves this season which is good for third in the OVC. Rossi has five shutouts, placing her tied for third in the conference. Rossi won the OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honors in week two this season.
SIDE NOTES: Avery Anderson has scored all six (two goals, two assists) of her points in conference play this year. Ashlyn Walter has shot 21 times this season, recording two goals. Freshmen Andrea Frerker has started all 16 games for the Cougars, recording four points (one goal, two assist).
CONFERENCE LEADERS: In OVC play this season, the Cougars are second in the conference with 49 points and 18 goals. SIUE also is tied for second in assists per game (1.30).
