EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's soccer put up three goals and shut out Morehead State Friday night at Korte Stadium.

Ashlyn Walter started out the scoring for the Cougars in the 9th minute, where she slotted one away after the double assist from Emily Grahl and Katie Jordan.

The Cougars put up a dominating performance in the first half, where they took 13 shots.

"I thought we played a really good first 45 minutes," Head Coach Derek Burton said. "It was really clean and really limited in terms of what we gave up."

The second half started out with attacks from both teams. Finally, the Cougars struck twice within the 77th minute.

MacKenzie Litzsinger scored a fantastic goal after receiving a through pass from Myah Diekema. Litzsinger dribbled through multiple defenders and netted one passed the keeper.

Avery Anderson scored the final goal for SIUE after a double assist from Grahl and Sydney Moore.

"We moved the ball pretty well," Burton added. "We found some final passes in some really dangerous areas. If we keep creating those chances we'll be in a good spot."

The Cougars outshot the Eagles 17-3.
