KANSAS CITY, Mo. – SIUE junior midfielder Emily Grahl has earned academic recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Grahl has been named to the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division I Scholar All-Region Team. She earned first team honors on the All North/Central Team.
The native of Washington, Missouri, is working towards a degree in exercise science and biological sciences and holds a 3.88 grade point average.
"I'm delighted that Emily was recognized by the NSCAA this season," SIUE Head Coach Derek Burton said. "With the work she puts in on the field and her dedication to academic excellence, one of our program's core values, this honor is well-deserved. Emily embodies the term student-athlete."
Grahl earned second team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors following the 2016 season. She started all 23 games and finished third on the team in scoring with three goals and a team-high six assists.
