SIUE women’s soccer coach Derek Burton has announced a pair of soccer camps that will take place this summer at SIUE’s Korte Stadium.

Cougars Announce Recruiting Class
SIUE women's soccer Head Coach Derek Burton has announced his 2012 recruiting class. Taylor Berutti (Belleville), Marissa Delgado (Belleville), Audrey Galvin (Elmhurst), Jennifer Pelley (St. Charles, Mo.), Cassidy Sherman (Algonquin), and Katye Skrivan (Florissant, Mo.) have each signed national letters of intent to play soccer for the Cougars beginning in the fall.

Cougars Honored by NSCAA
SIUE women's soccer was among nine Ohio Valley Conference teams honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with a 2011 NSCAA College Team Academic Award.

Iffrig, Auer Recognized by Ohio Valley Conference
A pair of forwards representing SIUE women's soccer have been honored by the Ohio Valley Conference. Sophomore Meagan Iffrig (St. Charles, Mo.) was selected to the All-OVC Second Team, while freshman Michelle Auer (St. Louis, Mo.) was honored as a member of the All-Newcomer Team. The awards were announced Wednesday night at the banquet prior to the OVC Championships getting underway in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Cougars Wrap Season with Shutout Win at Eastern Illinois
SIUE women's soccer wrapped its 2011 season with a 1-0 win Sunday afternoon on the road at Eastern Illinois. The Cougars finished with an overall record of 6-9-1. Sunday's win vaulted SIUE into a sixth-place tie with EIU.

On senior day it was a sophomore who was the hero for SIUE women's soccer. Meagan Iffrig's goal with 1:47 to play in the first overtime period Sunday lifted the Cougars to a 1-0 win over Eastern Kentucky at Korte Stadium.

OVC Predicts Women's Soccer Season
The SIUE women's soccer program will get its first taste of life in the Ohio Valley Conference when the season begins this fall. Thursday fourth-year Head Coach Derek Burton got his first look at the OVC's expected order of finish, as chosen in a vote by the Conference's head coaches and sports information directors. Burton and the Cougars were tabbed to finish eighth in the 10-team conference.
