After being outscored 3-2 in the last two games, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer wants to turn the season around on the road.
"I see it as unlucky," said SIUE women's soccer coach Lynda Bowers.
In an attempt to generate more scoring, Bowers said she will be making adjustments on the midfield to get more shots on goal.
After making up a postponed game at Lewis at 3 p.m. Tuesday, the Cougars continue Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Southern Indiana Friday and Kentucky Wesleyan Sunday.
"Every game is important. USI is a good team," said Bowers. "Every team has gotten better in the conference; no game is a cake walk."
Bowers believes that there has been a mixture of freshmen and seniors stepping up for the Cougars.
Freshmen Kelly Humphrey (Edwardsville), Jessica Bretana (St. Peters, Mo.) and Correen Roark (Hazelwood, Mo.) along with seniors Kayla Fromme (New Berlin), Whitney Hanson (St. Charles, Mo.) and Padra Bencini (Carbondale) have all played strong this season.
