Cougars Tied for Second after First Day at Home

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's golf is tied for second after the first day of play at the SIUE Intercollegiate presented by Double Tree. The Cougars have a combined score of 337 to tie with Eastern Illinois after the first round of at Sunset Hills Country Club.

SIU Carbondale leads the team competition with a combined 311.

Brooke Hood is pacing the Cougars for the second consecutive tournament. Hood carded a first round score of 83 to tie for ninth. Taylor Rumple and Ashton Stair are tied for 11^th, both having turned in first round scores of 84. Courtney Lovegreen is tied for 19^th with an 86. Brooks White is tied for 24^th with an 87 after day one.

The top four golfers for the day are from SIU Carbondale. Carrie Rushing is three-over par with a 75 to lead the field.

Play concludes with the final round Tuesday. Tee time is 8 a.m.
