Cougars Finish Eighth at Saluki Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. – SIUE women's golf finished eighth at the Saluki Invitational, completed Monday at the Hickory Ridge Golf Course. The Cougars finished with a combined score of 643.

Host SIU Carbondale won the team competition for the second consecutive year. The Salukis finished with a 608. Iowa (618) and IUPUI (627) rounded out the top three teams.

Ashton Stair tied for 10^th place with a combined 156. Stair carded a second-round score of 75 Monday. Brooke Hood and Taylor Rumple tied for 26^th with four other golfers. Each had a combined 160 for the tournament. Courtney Lovegreen finished tied for 56^th with a 167. Brooks White finished with a 176 to tie for 83^rd. Hilary Powles, competing as an individual, finished 94^th with a 197.

SIUC's Cassie Rushing was the individual medalist with a 146.

The Cougars are back in action at the IPFW Spring Classic beginning Sun., April 1.
