TODAY'S OPPONENT
This is the third meeting between the Cougars and the Cardinals. Ball State won both previous meetings, including a 66-60 victory last season at the Vadalabene Center. Jazmin Hill had 20 points in that game. Suzanne Grossnickle is the Cards' top returning scorer from that game with nine points. Brandy Woody is the team's top returning scorer from last season, averaging 5.5 points per game.

AMONG UNDEFEATED
SIUE is among four Ohio Valley Conference schools that remain undefeated after week one of the season. UT Martin and Austin Peay are 2-0 while SIUE and Eastern Illinois are 1-0.

OVERTIME
SIUE's overtime win against Valparaiso was its first in overtime win since the 2006-07 season when the Cougars won three overtime contests.

SEASON OPENERS
Head Coach Amanda Levens is now 3-1 in season openers. Her only loss was last season to Morgan State.

FRESHMAN PERFECTION
Freshman Tierny Austin could not have asked for a better start to her collegiate career. She was a perfect 5 of 5 from the field and 2 of 2 from three-point range. She also led the team with four steals.

RAINING TREYS
Jazmin Hill and Melia Duncan each had four three-pointers in SIUE's season-opening victory over Valparaiso. SIUE's 10 three-pointers is the most by SIUE against a Division I school and the most since SIUE defeated Division II Oakland City during the 2009-10 season.

ASSIST TO KENNER
Courtney Kenner set a new career high in assists with eight in the win over Valparaiso. She played a team-high 41 minutes in the game.

EARLY SIGNINGS
Jordyn Swan (Pewaukee, Wis.) and Jessie Wendt (Sigel) signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Cougars next season. Swan, a 5-11 guard, was a first team All-State selection for Pewaukee High School last season. She averaged 15.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season. Wendt, a 5-11 guard/forward, became Teutopolis' 13th player in school history to pass the 1,000-point scoring mark, completing the feat as a junior.

OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE
SIUE officially joined the OVC on July 1, 2008. The Cougars begin regular season competition in the OVC this season and will eligible for the OVC Tournament in 2012-13.

NEW TO THE ROSTER
The Cougars have five new faces on this season's roster. They include junior Kiara Conner (Division I transfer from Binghamton), freshman Katie Hempen, freshman Tierny Austin, freshman Kasi Korza, and freshman Raven Warford. A sixth, Ashley Capotosto, must sit it out this season due to NCAA transfer rules. She comes to SIUE from St. Bonaventure.

THREE FOR THE E
Senior Melia Duncan moved up to No. 5 on the all-time three-pointers list with 111. Sophomore Jazmin Hill is keeping pace and is now alone at No. 10 all-time with 78.
COUGAR TOP 30
SIUE has two active players among the top 30 scorers all-time. Senior Melia Duncan is 26th with 725 points, and junior Raven Berry is 28th overall with 705 points.
