The top eight Ohio Valley Conference teams will meet in March at Nashville, Tennessee's Municipal Auditorium. The conference race currently features eight teams within two games of each other. Two of those eight teams will not make the OVC Tournament field.
OVC TOURNAMENT FIELD
If SIUE wins, it will be the No. 3 seed for the OVC Tournament and play Thursday, March 2.
Nakiah Bell scored a career-high 23 points last Saturday as SIUE downed Murray State 85-76 at the CFSB Center. Bell hit five three-pointers and finished 9 of 15 from the field. Lauren White and Donshel Beck added 18 points each.
Cassidy Sherman is the lone senior on this year's roster.
SCOUTING EASTERN ILLINOIS
The Panthers are led by Grace Lennox, who has started all 27 games. She averaged 16.6 points per game. Erica Brown, who is averaging 11.8 points per game, is the team's leading rebounder at 8.0 per game. Eastern Illinois is coming off its third overtime victory of the season, a 78-73 win at Austin Peay.
SIUE has now won the last six meetings between the two squads, but EIU leads the overall series 14-8 dating back to 1981. SIUE won the game earlier this season at Eastern Illinois 75-59.
NO. 3 NATIONALLY
Gwen Adams did not attempt a free throw at Murray State and is now No. 3 nationally in free throw percentage at 93.1 percent (108-115).
SIUE has four current players among the top 50 in scoring all-time.

ON THE GLASS
SIUE has grabbed a season-best 50 rebounds in two out of its last three games, including a 50-27 advantage at Murray State. The 23-rebound difference was a season best.
Sydney Bauman leads the Cougars this season with 34 blocks. The sophomore currently is No. 4 all-time at SIUE in blocks with 64. The school record is 126 by Crystal Gladson (1997-2000).
BEYOND THE ARC
Nakiah Bell is fourth in the OVC in three-point field goals made (68), per game (2.43) and percentage (39.3).
Bell became the 26th player in school history to record 100 or more assists in a single season. She is 14th all-time in a single season with 120. The all-time record is 166 set by SIUE Athletics Hall of Famer Nancy Swain during the 1980-81 season.

SIUE is now No. 19 nationally in free throws made (419) and No. 26 in free throw attempts (572). The Cougars are 66th nationally in free throw percentage at 73.3 percent.
SIUE won all 12 of its games this season when attempting more free throws than its opponents.
