THE SERIES

Southeast Missouri leads the series 20-8. Southeast has won the last two meetings in the series, but SIUE has won the last four games at the Vadalabene Center. The Redhawks defeated the Cougars Jan. 27 79-71 at the Show Me Center.


LAST TIME OUT

SIUE women's basketball sent a shockwave through the OVC with a 65-62 victory over UT Martin at the Vadalabene Center. Ashley Capotosto scored a career-high 14 points to lead four SIUE players in double figures. It was the first conference loss of the season for the first-place Skyhawks.

 

OVC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Jones was named the OVC Freshman of the Week after averaging 14.0 points per game on 56.3 percent shooting. She recorded all six of the Cougars' steals in the win over the NJIT Highlanders. This is Jones' second Freshman of the Week honor.

 

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS

Southeast Missouri has lost its last three outings, including a 53-48 loss Saturday at Eastern Illinois. Patricia Mack leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 9.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.

 

BRILLIANT BRANDT

Brandt set her career high against Southeast Missouri Jan. 27 with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field.
