SIUE Overpowers Illinois-Springfield 88-55

         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball team dominated the University of Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars 88-55 Wednesday night at the Vadalabene Center.
         The Cougars shot 48.6 percent from the field while UIS shot 34.5 percent.
         SIUE's offensive attack was lead by Amber Shelton, who notched 17 points while shooting 7-11 from the field.
         Four other Cougars finished in double figures, including Whitney Sykes with 12, Elyse Morris with 11, Becky Tenholder with 10 and Julie Sweetin with 10.
         The Cougars also had a strong showing from Krystal Rosengren who led the team with nine points, eight rebounds along with two blocks during only 12 minutes of play.
         UIS was lead by Bethany Borrenpohl, who had a game-high 19 points and four rebounds.
         SIUE's next game is Saturday at home versus Fontbone University with a scheduled tip-off of 1 p.m.
