There were no rally caps flying, but the Southern Illinois University Edwwardsville women's basketball team raced from 19 points down to defeat Indianapolis 62-57 Thursday night at the Vadalabene Center.
Amanda Buldtman scored 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting as the Cougars improved to 8-5 overall and 6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Jessica Robert added 13 points and Jill Johnson tied her season high with 11 points.
Indianapolis (7-5, 3-4) wasted a 36-21 lead at halftime and a 19-point lead early in the second half. Sara Strahm led the Greyhounds with 23 points, hitting her first 10 shots from the field. Erin Moran added 18 points, including 4 of 4 from three-point range.
The Greyhounds came out on fire, hitting 63 percent of his shots in the first half. SIUE countered in the second half with some staunch defense and timely scoring, including a 14-0 run midway through the half.
The Cougars return to action Saturday at home against Northern Kentucky. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
