PEORIA, Ill. – The SIUE cross country teams wrapped up the Bradley Pink Classic Friday. Both the men's and women's races saw more than 200 runners from multiple NCAA Division I schools.

"We are starting to close gaps between eachother throughout the races," Assistant Coach Kayla Brown said. "Our goal is to continue to tighten our units."

On the men's side, Landon Skelly coming off his Ohio Valley Conference Runner of the Week award last week, sets a PR with a time of 26:09.4 (81st) in the 8k. Tyler Owens finished 86th with a time of 26:17.1. Austin Woodard ran a 26:29.0 (97th), Liam O'Connell 27:16.2 and Matthew O'Connor 27:30.7.

"Landon led the men for a second week in a row," Brown added. "He ran with a lot of focus and purpose."

Haley Miller led the women finishing 72nd (22:22.2) in the 6k. Allie Sweatt posted a time of 22:48.1 (108th), Jess Clarke 23:03.3, Aly Goff 24:00.9 and Keri Burmester 24:17.7.

"Haley led the women in their first 6k event this year," Brown said. "Keri ran strong especially in the middle and near the end of the race."

The Cougars are back in action when they will travel to Eastern Illinois for the OVC Championships Oct. 28.
