SIUE Completes Dual Season at Indianapolis

EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville wrestling team completes the 2009-2010 dual season at the Greyhound Duals in Indianapolis on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.

SIUE, 0-13-1, has three dual matches for the event, which begins against Findlay. The Oilers hold a dual record of 8-12-1. The Cougars will take on Campbellsville (Ky.), 7-5. The Cougars then face host Indianapolis, 8-8.

"Seeing where we started this season and how we have improved is a huge accomplishment for our young team," SIUE Head Coach David Ray said.

The lineup at the Greyhound Duals includes freshman Dustin Young (Anna) or Kris Treat (Anna) at 125 pounds; freshman Brendan Murphy (Palos Park) at 133 pounds; freshman Eric Biehl (Waynesville) at 141 pounds; freshman Kyle Lowman (Naplate) at 149 pounds; sophomore Steve Ross (Carlock) or Nick Jones (Evanston) at 157 pounds; freshman Lenny Kuspa (Oak Forest) or sophomore Eric Pretto (Orland Park) at 165 pounds; sophomore Tim Mahoney (Joliet) at 174 pounds; freshman Robert Cooney (East Moline) at 184 pounds; freshman A.J. Smith (Chicago) at 197 pounds; and freshman David Devine (Petersburg) or Chase Grafton (Alexandria, Va.) at 285 pounds.

"I am excited about the success we have experienced recently as a team going into these final duals," Ray said. "Our schedule has been demanding and very difficult. That is why I feel we can experience more success as we complete our season." -siue cougars-
