Lombardino Named OVC Field Athlete of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – SIUE's Kyle Lombardino (Round Lake) was named adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week following Saturday's Gateway Classic at Korte Stadium.

Lombardino topped the OVC Bests List in the discus with an impressive throw of 168 feet, 6 inches, placing second overall in the event.

The freshman qualified for the USA Junior National Championships in June with the performance.

This is Lombardino's first honor from the OVC, and it is the fourth consecutive week a Cougar has won or shared the field honor during the outdoor season.

He shares the award with fellow thrower Kevin Farley of Southeast Missouri.
