Florida Gulf Coast Blanks Cougars

FT. MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast took advantage of its home court Wednesday and defeated SIUE 7-0 in men's college tennis action.

The match concluded the spring break trip for the Cougars, now 2-6.

Three SIUE singles matches went to three sets before FGCU pulled out victories. Dean Tsamas downed SIUE's Nicolas Vincent at No. 3 singles 3-6, 6-1, 7-5. Matthew Rock defeated SIUE's Devan Faulkenberg at No. 4 singles 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Michael Beiler topped SIUE's Stephen Washuta at No. 6 singles 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.

SIUE's next action is the opening of Ohio Valley Conference play. The Cougars start with a March 17 match at Austin Peay.
