Greg Makowski
A three-time, first team All-American (1975-1977) for the Cougars, Greg Makowski led SIUE to a second-place finish and a national semifinal in four seasons. Makowski later was the team captain of the U.S. Olympic Soccer team from 1977 to 1981 and a member of the U.S. national team from 1978 to 1982. The first player selected in the 1978 NASL draft by the Colorado Caribous, Makowski played for several professional teams and was an MISL All-Star from 1983-1985 with the Kansas City Comets.
