Bauer Named to NSCAA Scholar All-America Team

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Ryan Bauer (O'Fallon, Mo.) was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-America second team.

 

A physics major with a grade point average of 3.90 at SIUE, Bauer helped lead the Cougars to a second-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) this season.

 

Bauer started all 20 games this season for the 13-7 Cougars. He finished the season tied for the team lead in assists with five. He provided assists in SIUE wins over Virginia Tech, DePaul, Omaha, and two against MVC rival Bradley.

 

The senior midfielder also earned the Elite 18 Award from the MVC as the men's soccer student-athlete with the highest grade point average. Bauer also was lauded as a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
