SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – SIUE golf turned in the best round of the day, firing a 287 Tuesday, to move into second place at Missouri State's Twin Oaks Intercollegiate at Twin Oaks Country Club.

The Cougars finished at 864, just three strokes back of Bradley, which repeated as tournament champions.

"I am extremely happy with how hard we battled this week and especially the last 12-14 holes today," SIUE Head Coach Derrick Brown said. "We didn't get off to the best start but fought hard to shoot the best round of the day."

Kyle Slattery finished second with a 211 (-2). Slattery finished just one stroke back of individual medalist, Missouri State's Adam Fisher.

Austin Glendinning, playing as one of SIUE's individuals, tied for third at 214. Brady Dixon was a shot back at 215 and tied for 10th.

"I am also very happy with the individual results," Brown said. "Kyle finishing as the runner up and Austin in third are both really good finishes."

Jordan Harre and individual player Conor Dore were among four players tied for 17th with a 220. Danny Gorman tied for 21st with a 221.

"We continue to show how deep this team is with multiple other good individual finishes by Brady, Jordan, Conor and Danny," Brown added.

Individuals Grant Gavin and Will Starkey finished tied for 35th and tied for 40th, respectively. Spencer Underwood finished in 71st place with a 242.

SIUE is off until Illinois State's D.A. Weibring Invitational March 31-April 1.

"This team continues to get better and we're excited to continue the spring season in a couple of weeks," Brown said.
