Cougars 13th After First Day at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – SIUE men's golf sits 13th of 15 competing teams after the first day of play at Ball State's Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational. The tournament is the final one for the Cougars this season.
SIUE has a combined score of 773 after the first two rounds. The tournament features a six-count five format, where the six players compete, and the five lowest scores are counted.
Louisville leads the team competition with a 717. The Cardinals of Louisville are 21 strokes ahead of the field. The Ball State Cardinals are second with a 738.
Alex Knoll paced the Cougars through the first two rounds.  Knoll is tied for 21st with a 149. Grant Wynia is tied for 26th with a 150. Wynia carded a first rounds score of 70 which is the lowest of his career. Colin McCarty has a combined 156 and is tied for 61st. Taylor Cox is tied for 65th with a 157. Mitchell Homb is tied for 76th with a 161. Taylor White has a combined 164 to tie for 84th.
Louisville's Chirs Malec is leading the individual competition with a 138.
The tournament, being played at Delaware Country Club, concludes with the final round Sunday.
