Cougars End Season With 14th Place at Ball State
MUNCIE, Ind. – SIUE men's golf finished its 2011-2012 season with a 14th place finish at Ball State's Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational. The Cougars finished with a combined score of 1170 at the tournament which featured five scoring players.
Louisville took team honors with a 1090. Austin Peay (1100) and Ball State (1113) rounded out the top three.
Alex Knoll led the Cougars with a 226, which tied for 28th place. Grant Wynia tied for 54th for a 234. Colin McCarty was a shot back at 235 to tie for 59th. Taylor Cox tied for 69th with a 237. Mitchell Homb finished with a 240 to tie for 79th. Taylor White tied for 84th with a 246.
Chris Malec, of Louisville, earned medalist honors with a 210 for the weekend.
SIUE completed its season with two top-five finishes including the championship at its home event, the SIUE Intercollegiate.
