LAST TIME OUT
A seven-minute scoreless stretch at the end of the first half, proved costly for SIUE Friday in a 68-41 loss at Saint Louis.The Cougars pulled within two points at 16-14 with a Kris Davis three-pointer with 9:05 to play before halftime. Saint Louis then reeled off the next 13 points to balloon its lead to 29-14. Davis snapped the scoreless streak with another three ball with 1:59 to play in the half, but it was the only points the rest of the way for SIUE. The Billikens ended the half on a 20-3 run and led 36-17 at half.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Morehead State is coming off a 114-67 win Sunday over Union College, an NAIA school. Prior to that the Eagles had lost three consecutive games. Their last win over a Division I school was Dec. 8 vs. Indiana State. Milton Chavis leads the Eagles in scoring, averaging 12.3 points a game. Kahlil Owens is the rebounding leader, pulling down 5.8 boards a game.
The two schools have met four previous times, all coming since SIUE joined the Division I ranks. The Cougars trail the Eagles in the series 3-1. Last year the two teams split a pair of regular season meetings. Both teams won on their home floor.

Tonight's game is the beginning of the Ohio Valley Conference season for both schools. All 12 OVC schools are in action tonight.
