         INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's J.B. Jones (Belleville) and Mike Hardiek (Teutopolis) were named honorable mention All-Great Lakes Valley Conference by a vote of the league's 14 coaches.
         Jones broke SIUE's career steals and assists record this past season as a junior. He finished the 2006-2007 season with 9.2 points and 5.89 assists per game.
         Hardiek, a senior, led SIUE in several offensive categories, including points (16.1 per game), three-pointers made (39), field goal percentage (53.6) and three-point field goal percentage (44.3)
         The Cougars finished the season with a 15-12 record and a 10-9 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. SIUE did not qualify for the GLVC Tournament from the rugged West Division.
         Northern Kentucky's Steven Wright was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. The 6-foot-3 senior guard headlined the five-member All-GLVC First Team, which included Drury's Collins Harris, Lewis' Brandon Dagans, Quincy's Joel Box, and Southern Indiana's Rashard Sullivan.
         The All-GLVC second team consists of Drury's Brandon Kimbrough, Quincy's Andre Muse, Saint Joseph's Ronald Coleman, Southern Indiana's Melvin Hall and UW-Parkside's LaVontay Fenderson.
         Along with Jones and Hardiek, honorable mention All-GLVC nods include Kentucky Wesleyan's Jeff Fahnbulleh, Lewis' Stephan Bolt, Quincy's Ryan Walker, Rockhurst's John Torson, Indianapolis' DeAndre Brock, Missouri-St. Louis' Brett Ledbetter, and UW-Parkside's Tyrone Deacon.
         Southern Indiana coach Rick Herdes was named the GLVC Coach of the Year. The GLVC Freshman of the Year is the Missouri-Rolla's Justin Taylor.
         Members of the All-GLVC teams present at the GLVC Tournament will be recognized following the 2:30 quarterfinal on March 1.
