EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE baseball has added pitcher Ryan Agnitsch (Overland Park, Kansas), according to Head Coach Tony Stoecklin.
Agnitsch, a 6-foot, 215-pound right-handed pitcher, comes to SIUE after two seasons at Jefferson College and will be a junior at SIUE. As a sophomore, Agnitsch was 2-0 with a 2.12 earned run average in 18 appearances. He struck out 32 while walking only seven in 34 innings of work.
"He's going to come in and add upperclassman depth and solidify our bullpen," Stoecklin said. "He has an outstanding fastball with a ton of life."
Jefferson College captured Midwest Community College Conference titles in each of Agnitsch's two seasons with the Vikings.
Agnitsch attended Blue Valley West High School, where he was a first team All-Eastern Kansas League selection. He also was a second team All-Metro pick.
"When you command your fastball, you can have tremendous success," Stoecklin added. "When you add life to that command, you have someone that can be really good."
Agnitsch was shortstop Skyler Geissinger's teammate while at Blue Valley West.
