WICHITA, Kan. - SIUE senior Dustin Quattrocchi (Wheaton) has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's (NCBWA) midseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year Award, presented to the top reliever in college baseball.

Quattrocchi, one of 45 pitchers named to the midseason list, boasts a 3-0 record, a sparkling 0.33 earned run average, and eight saves. In a team-high 17 relief appearances, the left-hander has 31 strikeouts in 27 innings. He has allowed just a single earned run, has walked only three, and given up only 11 hits in that time.
Quattrocchi's eight saves this season are tied for the second most in a single season at SIUE. His 12 career saves are the fourth-most in school history.
Nominations for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award were made by baseball sports information/media relation contacts and more than 90 nominations were received. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Division I national saves leader and four other relief pitching standouts will be selected as finalists and released Wednesday, June 6, prior to start of NCAA Super Regional tournament competition.
