MURRAY, Ky. - SIUE defeated Murray State 15-4 in the finale of a three-game college baseball series at Johnny Reagan Field. The Cougars swept the three-game series and have now won four straight.

"We played a solid game," SIUE Head Coach Gary Collins said. "Pitching did a good job keeping the score down, the top of the order did a nice job with 12 hits and we made no errors."

SIUE improved to 15-19 on the season. The Cougars improved to 7-2 against Ohio Valley Conference opponents this season.

Like Saturday, the Cougars got out to a quick lead. James Vazquez led off the game with a single and then moved to second on a single by Mitch Matecki. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Vazquez scored on a sacrifice fly by Devin Caldwell to make it 1-0 SIUE.

Matecki made it 2-0 with a two-out RBI-single in the third inning. Devin Caldwell followed with a two-run home run to left to extend the Cougars lead to 4-0.
