Frey was a star student-athlete in field hockey, basketball, and softball -- covering all three seasons for the Cougars. As a member of the field hockey team, Frey was a goalkeeper from 1975 to 1977. She set the early standard for basketball scorers, leading the Cougars with a 10.8 scoring average in the 1974-75 season and an 11.6 scoring average during the 1975-76 season. In softball, Frey was a catcher who played the 1975 season as well as the 1977 and 1978 seasons.
