EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The generosity and support for SIUE Athletics at the inaugural Red & Black Gala was on display as officials announced that revenue for the event was more than $96,000.

"I am pleased, overwhelmed and thankful not only for the turnout but also for the generosity of our friends and alumni," said SIUE Director of Athletics Dr. Brad Hewitt. "I can't compliment the entire staff enough for their hard work in making this a success."

The Red & Black Gala, presented by Simmons Hanly Conroy, a National Law Firm, was a first-of-its-kind event for SIUE Athletics. The proceeds from the event will go directly to support scholarship needs and operating budgets.
